18Do not let any of the things set apart for destruction cling to your hand, so that the LORD will turn from His fierce anger and show you mercy, have compassion on you, and increase you, as He swore to your ancestors.
8When you bring blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you offer lame or sick animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you? says the LORD of Hosts.
9Now plead with God to be gracious to us. Will he accept you? This offering came from your hands. How can he be pleased with you? says the LORD of Hosts.
6With what shall I come before the Lord and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with yearling calves?
7Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand streams of oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
6Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided.
13Tear open your hearts, not your garments, and return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love, and he relents from sending calamity.
5He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the Lord’s faithful love.

2My hand made all these things, and so all these came into being,' declares the Lord. 'But I will look to this one: to the humble and contrite in spirit, who trembles at My word.
10When you tell these people all these words, they will ask you, 'Why has the LORD declared such a great calamity against us? What is our guilt? What is the sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?'
