9The LORD has driven out great and powerful nations before you, and no one has been able to stand against you to this day.
3But understand today that the LORD your God is the one crossing ahead of you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and subdue them before you, so you will drive them out and annihilate them quickly, as the LORD has promised you.
9and said to them, "I know that the LORD has given you this land and that fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you.
10We have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan, whom you completely destroyed.

11Like the Anakites, they too were considered Rephaim, though the Moabites call them Emim.
1When the LORD your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of, and He drives out many nations before you—the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites—seven nations more numerous and stronger than you,

24Their descendants went in and took possession of the land. You subdued the inhabitants of the land—the Canaanites—before them and handed their kings and the peoples of the land over to them, to do with as they desired.
17If you say in your heart, 'These nations are too numerous for me; how can I drive them out?'
38He drove out nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you into their land and to give it to you as an inheritance, as it is today.
39And the little ones you said would be taken as plunder—your children who do not yet know good from evil—they will enter the land. I will give it to them, and they will take possession of it.
2Know today that it was not your children, who did not know and have not seen, but you who witnessed the discipline of the LORD your God—His greatness, His strong hand, and His outstretched arm.
18At that time I commanded you: 'The LORD your God has given you this land to take possession of it. All your fighting men, fully armed, must cross over ahead of your fellow Israelites.'
23then the LORD will drive out all these nations before you, and you will dispossess nations greater and stronger than you.
2The LORD said to me: 'Do not be afraid of him, for I have handed him over to you along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.'
25No one will be able to stand against you; the LORD your God will put the fear and dread of you upon all the land where you set foot, as He has promised you.
6Be strong and courageous, for you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.
11You crossed the Jordan and came to Jericho. The leaders of Jericho, along with the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites, and Jebusites fought against you, but I gave them into your hands.
1When all the kings west of the Jordan—those in the hill country, the lowlands, and along the entire coast of the Mediterranean Sea in the territory opposite Lebanon—heard about this, the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites,
10Joshua said, 'By this you will know that the living God is among you and that He will surely drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites, and Jebusites.'
21At that time Joshua came and destroyed the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, Debir, Anab, all the hill country of Judah, and all the hill country of Israel. Joshua devoted them and their cities to destruction.
8And the LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them. I have given them into your hand; not one of them will be able to stand against you.”
11Observe what I command you today. I am driving out before you the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
15Joshua said to them, 'If you are so numerous, go up into the forest and clear land for yourselves there in the territory of the Perizzites and the Rephaim, since the hill country of Ephraim is too narrow for you.'
25This day I will begin to put the dread and fear of you upon all the peoples under the heavens. When they hear reports of you, they will tremble and be in anguish because of you.'
18See what the land is like, and whether the people who live there are strong or weak, few or many.
19the great trials that your eyes saw, the signs, the wonders, the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm by which the LORD your God brought you out. The LORD your God will do the same to all the peoples you fear.
9He said to his people, "Look, the people of Israel have become too numerous and too powerful for us.
3The LORD your God himself will cross ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you shall take possession of them. Joshua will cross ahead of you, as the LORD has said.
21See, the LORD your God has set the land before you. Go up and take possession of it, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.
29as the descendants of Esau who live in Seir and the Moabites who live in Ar did for me—until I cross the Jordan into the land that the LORD our God is giving us.'
20They gave Hebron to Caleb, as Moses had promised, and Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak from it.
8See, I have set the land before you. Go and take possession of the land that the LORD swore to give to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—and to their descendants after them.
23Now the Lord, the God of Israel, has driven out the Amorites before His people Israel. Would you now take possession of it?
31For you are about to cross the Jordan to enter and possess the land the LORD your God is giving you. You will take possession of it and live in it.
14Caleb expelled from there the three descendants of Anak: Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, the offspring of Anak.
1When all the kings of the Amorites west of the Jordan and all the kings of the Canaanites by the sea heard how the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan to allow the Israelites to cross, their hearts melted, and they lost all courage because of the Israelites.
