Do to him as you did to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.' 3 So the LORD our God also gave us Og, king of Bashan, and all his people. We struck them down until no survivors remained. 4 We captured all his cities at that time—there was not a city we did not take from them—sixty cities in all, the entire region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 5 All these cities were fortified with high walls, gates, and bars, besides many unwalled rural towns. 6 We completely destroyed them, just as we had done to Sihon, king of Heshbon. In every city, we destroyed the men, women, and children. 7 But we kept all the livestock and the spoils of the cities for ourselves. 8 At that time, we took the land from the two Amorite kings across the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon. 9 (The Sidonians call Hermon 'Sirion,' and the Amorites call it 'Senir.') 10 We captured all the cities of the plateau, all of Gilead, and all of Bashan as far as Salecah and Edrei—cities of Og's kingdom in Bashan. 11 For only Og, king of Bashan, remained from the remnant of the Rephaim. Look, his bed was made of iron and is still in Rabbah of the Ammonites. It is nine cubits long and four cubits wide, according to the standard cubit. 12 At that time, we took possession of this land, from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Valley, and half of the hill country of Gilead with its towns, and I gave them to the Reubenites and the Gadites. 13 The rest of Gilead and all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to half the tribe of Manasseh. The entire region of Argob in Bashan is called the land of the Rephaim. 14 Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, took the whole region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites. He named the villages of Bashan after himself, calling them Havvoth Jair, and they remain so to this day. 15 I gave Gilead to Machir. 16 To the Reubenites and the Gadites I gave the land extending from Gilead to the Arnon Valley, with the valley as the border, as far as the Jabbok River, the border of the Ammonites.
