4 For somewhere He has said this about the seventh day: "And God rested on the seventh day from all His works."
5 And again, in the same passage, "They shall not enter My rest."
6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who previously had the good news proclaimed to them did not enter because of disobedience,
7 He again appoints a certain day—'Today'—saying through David after such a long time, as it was previously stated: "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts."
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.
9 Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for the people of God.
10 For the one who has entered His rest has also rested from his own works, just as God did from His.
11 Let us then make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall into the same example of disobedience.

11 'None of the men who came up from Egypt, twenty years old and older, will see the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because they have not fully followed Me—
34 When the LORD heard what you said, He became angry and swore an oath:
35 Not one man of this evil generation will see the good land that I swore to give to your fathers,

12 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.

40 How often they provoked Him in the wilderness and grieved Him in the wasteland!
26 But the LORD was angry with me because of you and would not listen to me. Instead, the LORD said to me, ‘That is enough! Do not speak to Me anymore about this matter.’
12 To whom He said, 'This is the place of rest—give rest to the weary; this is the place of repose’—but they would not listen.
16 'The LORD was not able to bring these people into the land he promised them on oath, so he slaughtered them in the wilderness.'
21 Furthermore, the LORD was angry with me because of you and swore that I would not cross the Jordan nor enter the good land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.
5 Then He speaks to them in His anger and terrifies them in His wrath:
17 There the wicked cease from turmoil, and there the weary are at rest.
13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They did not follow my statutes and rejected my ordinances—though by them a person will live if they do them—and they greatly profaned my Sabbaths. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness to destroy them.
51 This is because you acted unfaithfully toward Me among the Israelites at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin, and because you did not honor Me as holy among the Israelites.
32 By the waters of Meribah, they angered the LORD, and trouble came to Moses because of them;
21 But the children rebelled against me. They did not walk in my statutes, and they did not keep my ordinances to obey them, though by them a person will live. They profaned my Sabbaths, so I said I would pour out my wrath on them and unleash my anger against them in the wilderness.
8 Cease from anger and abandon wrath; do not fret—it only leads to evil.
15 Also, I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land I had given them—a land flowing with milk and honey, the most beautiful of all lands—
24 But they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe His promise.
22 You continued to provoke the LORD to anger at Taberah, at Massah, and at Kibroth Hattaavah.
3 'I will not enter my house, nor will I go up to my bed;
37 Their hearts were not faithful to Him, nor were they loyal to His covenant.
11 The LORD said to Moses, "How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, despite all the signs I have performed among them?
26 Therefore, He raised His hand against them to make them fall in the wilderness,
15 If I had spoken out like that, I would have betrayed Your children.
