The LORD said to Moses, "How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, despite all the signs I have performed among them?

12I will strike them down with a plague and destroy them, and I will make you into a nation greater and stronger than they.
13But Moses said to the LORD, "The Egyptians will hear about it! By your power you brought these people up from among them.
41But Moses said, 'Why are you disobeying the LORD's command? This will not succeed.
11But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God and said, "LORD, why does your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand?"

16For who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those who came out of Egypt under the leadership of Moses?
17And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

35I, the LORD, have spoken. I will surely do this to this entire wicked community who conspired against me; they will meet their end in this wilderness, and here they will die.
20but for a whole month—until it comes out of your nostrils and becomes loathsome to you—because you have rejected the LORD, who is among you, and have wailed before Him, saying, ‘Why did we ever leave Egypt?’
21But Moses said, 'Here I am among six hundred thousand men on foot, and You say, ‘I will give them meat to eat for a whole month’?
9where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw my works.
2All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole community said to them, "If only we had died in Egypt or in this wilderness!
11The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
24But they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe His promise.
2The entire assembly of the Israelites complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.
14This is because you rebelled against my command in the Wilderness of Zin, during the assembly’s strife, when you failed to uphold my holiness before their eyes at the waters. These are the waters of Meribah at Kadesh, in the Wilderness of Zin.
15Moses spoke to the LORD, saying:
7And he named the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the LORD, saying, "Is the LORD among us or not?"
23The LORD answered Moses, 'Is the LORD’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not what I say will come true for you.'
16The LORD said to Moses, 'Behold, you are going to rest with your ancestors, and this people will rise up and prostitute themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake me and break the covenant I made with them.'
18Even when they made a molten calf for themselves and said, 'This is your god who brought you out of Egypt,' and they committed terrible blasphemies,
39When Moses relayed these words to all the Israelites, the people mourned greatly.
22You continued to provoke the LORD to anger at Taberah, at Massah, and at Kibroth Hattaavah.
16'The LORD was not able to bring these people into the land he promised them on oath, so he slaughtered them in the wilderness.'
27You grumbled in your tents and said, 'Because the LORD hates us, He brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites to destroy us.'
10So the Lord’s anger burned that day, and He swore, saying:

9Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh slavery.
5The people spoke against God and Moses: 'Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread, no water, and we detest this miserable food!'
13The LORD also said to me, 'I have seen this people, and indeed, they are a stiff-necked people.
10'Move away from this assembly so I can put an end to them at once.' And they fell facedown.

36This is the one who led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.
