12Then Jesus said to the one who had invited him, 'When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers, your relatives, or your rich neighbors. Otherwise, they may invite you back, and you will be repaid.'

7You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, saying,
8‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
9They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’
6He answered them, "Isaiah rightly prophesied about you hypocrites, as it is written: 'This people honors Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.'
7They worship Me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
28So too, on the outside you appear righteous to people, but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
