1 When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses, chariots, and a people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them, for the LORD your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, is with you.
2 When you approach the battle, the priest shall come forward and address the people.
3 He shall say to them: 'Hear, O Israel, you are about to go into battle against your enemies. Do not let your hearts be faint; do not be afraid, panic, or dread them.'
4 For the LORD your God goes with you to fight for you against your enemies and to give you victory.
5 The officers shall then say to the people: 'If anyone has built a new house and has not yet dedicated it, let him go back to his house, lest he die in battle and another dedicate it.'
9 When the officers have finished speaking to the people, they shall appoint commanders to lead the armies at the head of the troops.
10 When you go out to war against your enemies, and the LORD your God gives them into your hand and you take captives,
19 When you lay siege to a city for a long time to capture it, do not destroy its trees by cutting them down with an axe, for you may eat from them. Do not cut them down, for is the tree of the field a human that it should face the siege with you?
20 However, you may cut down only the trees that you know are not fruit-bearing. Use them to build siege works against the city that is at war with you, until it falls.
5 When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.'
6 If a peaceful person is there, your peace will rest on them; but if not, it will return to you.
7 Seek the welfare of the city where I have exiled you and pray to the LORD on its behalf, because its welfare determines your welfare.
10 But when you cross the Jordan and settle in the land that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, and He gives you rest from all your enemies around you so that you live in safety,
6 Say this to him: ‘Peace to you! Peace to your household, and peace to all that you have!’
12 As you enter the house, greet it.
13 If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
31 Or what king, going to war against another king, will not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to face the one coming against him with twenty thousand?
32 If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still far away and ask for terms of peace.
7 May peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your citadels.
8 For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, 'Peace be within you.'
20 if the king becomes angry and asks, "Why did you go so near the city to fight? Didn’t you know they would shoot arrows from the wall?
15 He said: 'Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.'
16 Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the desert of Jeruel.
17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions, stand firm, and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.'
7 I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to remain silent.
9 When you go into battle in your land against an enemy who oppresses you, you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, so that you might be remembered before the LORD your God and be saved from your enemies.
18 He said, 'If they have come out for peace, capture them alive; and if they have come out for war, capture them alive.'
9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.'
10 But when you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go out into its streets and say,
4 The one who flees to one of these cities must stand at the entrance of the city gate and explain their case to the elders of that city. They should take the person into the city, provide a place for them to stay, and allow them to live among them.
16 These are the things you must do: Speak the truth to one another, render true and just judgments in your gates,
7 "Then you shall rise from the ambush and seize the city, for the Lord your God will deliver it into your hands."
8 "When you have taken the city, you shall set it on fire, as the Lord has commanded. See, I have commanded you."
9 Proclaim this among the nations: Prepare for war! Arouse the warriors! Let all the fighting men draw near and advance.
21 Be reconciled with God now, and at peace with Him; this will bring good to you.
20 Moses said to them, "If you will do this—if you arm yourselves for battle before the Lord,
10 When the LORD your God brings you into the land He swore to your ancestors—Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give to you, with cities great and good that you did not build,
5 "I and all the people with me will approach the city, and when they come out to meet us as they did before, we will flee before them."
15 then you must inquire, investigate, and interrogate thoroughly. If the report is true and confirmed that such a detestable act has been done among you,
3 Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations, as He fights in a day of battle.
6 I will give peace in the land, and you will lie down with no one to make you afraid. I will remove harmful beasts from the land, and no sword will go through your land.
19 He will drive out all your enemies before you, as the LORD has promised.
7 When the Lord is pleased with a person’s ways, He makes even their enemies to be at peace with them.
