18When such a person hears the words of this curse, they may bless themselves in their heart and say, 'I will have peace, even though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart.' This will lead to the destruction of both the well-watered and the dry.
18This is so they do not teach you to follow all the detestable practices they have done for their gods, causing you to sin against the LORD your God.
7Do not associate with these nations that remain among you. Do not invoke the names of their gods, swear by them, serve them, or bow down to them.
25You must burn the carved images of their gods in the fire. Do not covet the silver or gold on them, and do not take it for yourself, or you will be ensnared by it. For it is detestable to the LORD your God.
7If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son or daughter, or the wife of your embrace, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, 'Let us go and worship other gods'—gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known,

42But the LORD said to me, 'Tell them, "Do not go up or fight, because I am not with you; you will be defeated by your enemies."'
39And the little ones you said would be taken as plunder—your children who do not yet know good from evil—they will enter the land. I will give it to them, and they will take possession of it.
4Do not say in your heart, when the LORD your God drives them out before you, 'It is because of my righteousness that the LORD has brought me in to take possession of this land,' but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD is dispossessing them before you.
