He made it much higher. He also placed military commanders in all the fortified cities in Judah. 15 He removed the foreign gods and the image from the house of the LORD, and all the altars he had built on the hill of the house of the LORD and in Jerusalem, and he threw them outside the city. 16 Then he restored the altar of the LORD and offered on it sacrifices of peace offerings and thanksgiving.
