21So give their children over to famine; hand them over to the power of the sword. Let their wives become childless and widowed, and let their men die by deadly disease; let their young men be struck down in battle.
3Say to your brothers, 'My people,' and to your sisters, 'She has received mercy.'
4Plead with your mother, plead! For she is not my wife, and I am not her husband. Let her remove her adulteries from before her face and her unfaithfulness from between her breasts.
4'If they go into captivity before their enemies, from there I will command the sword to kill them. I will set My eyes on them for harm and not for good.'
18There is no one to guide her among all the sons she has borne, and no one to take her by the hand among all the sons she has raised.
19These double calamities have come upon you—destruction and devastation, famine and sword. Who will console you?

20Look, LORD, and consider: Whom have you ever treated like this? Should women eat their own children, the little ones they have cherished? Should priest and prophet be killed in the sanctuary of the Lord?
14And I will shatter them, one against another, fathers and sons together,’ declares the LORD. ‘I will show no pity, no compassion, and no mercy to prevent their destruction.’
22You summoned, as if to a feast day, terrors on every side. On the day of the LORD’s anger, no one escaped or survived. Those I cared for and raised, my enemy has destroyed.
14the roar of battle will rise against your people, and all your fortresses will be devastated—as Shalman destroyed Beth Arbel on the day of battle, when mothers were dashed to pieces with their children.
17How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!

22Therefore, this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘I am about to punish them. Their young men will die by the sword, their sons and daughters will die by famine.’
21Prepare a place of slaughter for his sons because of the iniquity of their fathers. Let them not rise to possess the land or fill the face of the earth with cities.
41You will have sons and daughters, but they will not remain with you, because they will go into captivity.

8I will attack them like a bear robbed of her cubs; I will tear their hearts open. There I will devour them like a lion; a wild beast will rip them apart.
12They cry out to their mothers, 'Where is the bread and the wine?' as they faint like the wounded in the streets of the city, and as they breathe their last in their mothers’ arms.
9Ephraim will become a desolation on the day of punishment. Among the tribes of Israel, I have made known what is certain.
