28 ‘Charge Joshua and encourage him, for he will lead this people across and enable them to inherit the land that you will see.’
5 and he said to them, “Cross ahead of the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to take a stone on his shoulder, one for each of the tribes of the Israelites.

24 But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it, because the place where the LORD your God chooses to establish His name is too far away, then when the LORD your God blesses you,

2 Remember the entire journey the Lord your God has led you on these forty years in the wilderness, to humble and test you in order to know what is in your heart—whether or not you would keep His commandments.
2 But you must not make a covenant with the people who live in this land. Instead, you are to break down their altars. Yet you have not obeyed me. What is this that you have done?'
9 For you have not yet come into the resting place and the inheritance that the Lord your God is giving you.
42 Do not go up, because the LORD is not with you; you will be defeated by your enemies.'
43 For the Amalekites and Canaanites are there to confront you, and you will fall by the sword. Because you have turned away from the LORD, He will not be with you.
44 Nevertheless, in their presumption, they went up toward the top of the hill, but neither the ark of the LORD's covenant nor Moses moved from the camp.
8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
22 You are to let your children know: 'Israel crossed the Jordan here on dry ground.'
